Best Online MBA Programs

The best online MBA programs are generally those that are well accredited. When considering a distance learning program, it can be hard to wade through the mess of sub-par schools and accreditation agencies. For information on nationally recognized agencies click here.

Online MBA programs are not commonly ranked like their traditional counterparts are, so it can be hard to pinpoint the best online business schools. Research is key. As mentioned above, make sure the school is properly accredited, and look into the quality of the particular program in which you are interested.

The majority of what would be considered top online business schools are accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Many of these online programs are extensions of respected traditional programs, and are therefore extremely selective. Furthermore, many of them do require some amount of physical classroom participation given the strict criteria of the AACSB. For a list of some of the best online MBA programs click here. This list is by no means comprehensive; it ranks quality and affordability; so top AACSB programs from schools such as Carnegie Mellon, Duke (Fuqua) and Thunderbird (among others) are not included. Another good resource is the AACSB website, which has a list of all AACSB accredited business schools, and a tool which allows you to search for schools with distance learning programs. Remember, whatever program you look into, make sure to carefully research accreditation as it can be revoked, or not apply to the particular program in which you are interested- some institutions are completely accredited, while some have specific programs that are accredited.

Finding the best online MBA programs is tricky, and can take a lot of time and research. Having a clear idea of your individual needs will make the process that much easier. Just remember, even after you locate a top online business school, it must support your ultimate goals.
